wet mix:

Combine, flatten onto a greased baking tray (get it as even and thin as possible), bake at 350 for about 45min.

If adding fruits, reduce butter content (otherwise it’ll get too wet).

Storage

Keeps for at least two weeks in a jar. Not guaranteed to be suitable for larder.

Background

Oats are cheap, they’re a great staple food that gives more nutrients (even an 80% protein) and less carbs than flour, rice, or corn. The trade-off is that their use is limited to oatmeal, sprinkled in bread, and granola / cereal. This is the general process we use to make granola - it’s not as tasty as yours, but it’s aimed at being a highly crunchy snack that doesn’t have the same sugar as others.

Good base for a homemade cereal too.
